Public Notice – April 21, 2020, 2nd Quarter Board Meeting Postponed

On March 15, Governor Pritzker took aggressive action to minimize the spread of COVID-19 by issuing Executive Order 2020-07, declaring  it is necessary and appropriate for the State of Illinois to immediately take measures to protect the public’s health in response to the COVID-19 outbreak, and encouraging public bodies to postpone consideration of public business where possible. On April 1, Governor Pritzker continued and extended Executive Order 2020-07 through April 30, 2020.

 

In addition, the Illinois Department of Public Health and federal officials remind us that social distancing remains crucial and is the paramount strategy for minimizing the spread of COVID-19 in our communities.

 

Accordingly, the State Police Merit Board will postpone its April 21, 2020 meeting. We cannot place the public, staff, or Board members at risk.  The Board meeting will be rescheduled at a later date.
